I'm convinced that the people who are fine with the summons had no interest in Summoner anyway. The people who are upset actually like the class and wanted something cool.

Summoner is to be my secondary class and I'm fine with the Egi's as is.

Keep in mind, the true Primals are still going to be summonable, but with the full strenght and fury they are as Primes. To me, that more than makes up for the lackuster pet versions that I'll be using in my day to day game.

But, to each their own.

I really had no interest in summoner, but if it ends up like something like this; where primals are earth shatteringly awesome, then that should be cool enough.

In all honesty, this tour 3 didn't really get me as excited as the first two. I like the snowy areas and I'm excited for Coerthas and Ishgard, but I never really liked Mor'dohna (sp?). Some of the music was pretty cool. I only saw it once though..I'll have to go back and watch it again more attentively.

(I've been watching some "Let's Play: The Last of Us" so that's been taking up most of my time currently)

You made me listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsj5xjoLXtE again for the hundredth time, damn you. **** I loved that place. Crono Trigger was the ****. Final Fantasy is a great series, but Crono Trigger was in the top 3 most boss RPGs ever made.

Why do I feel like Kanye West right now?

Actually that is the part that sealed the deal for me with Chrono Trigger... The music of the kingdom of Zeal, the atmosphere etc etc, i loved it.

Yeah. I have no clue what they were thinking with Summoners.

Damn shame. Ifrit is a floating head with little anorexic arms. He looks like he's about to die any moment. Puny, weak, uncool. Titan looks like a ball of crap.

By the far the worst iteration of Summoner in any Final Fantasy to date.

The areas look nice though

I still disagree.

Honestly, I LOVE that cute wittle Tity Wity. I'm gonna hug him and squeeze him and love him until he bursts.

Like you said, they are white knights.

For now they'll say "I love them small! I HATE IT WHEN THEY'RE BIG, take up too much of the screen!"

If they're made bigger? "THANK GOD. Perfect decision, they were far too small before. Good work SE." etc.

Well, since you're quoting me, and I can see you're still sore about that time I said this (enough that you wrote down my words in your dream journal) I'll respond.

The summons look to be done in a particular style. Unlike you, I don't think I am better at creating 3D art than them, and accept the style for what it is. If they made them bigger, that's fine too, as long as they keep the same style and not just copy/pasta another FF game. (even though I also like the FFXI copied Carbuncle.)

People can have opinions that differ from you, Killua. You think you would have learned that by now, but you are the poster than comes back every single day trying to impose your views on others and getting upset when they disagree, so maybe you'll never learn this.

#56REDACTED, Posted: Jul 05 2013 at 2:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't know if it was you who said it. A few people are white knighting in the same way. "They were too big before!" and it's just bullcrap whiteknighting, lol. Just like the above poster said, the Chocobo companions and even the vanity pets are all bigger than the summons and you don't hear many complaints about that.

IMO, the egis are adorable. I honestly have no problem with them. It's just a different take on what summoner can summon- and it makes more sense in terms of the lore. Since the full primals are almost godlike beings, to have them summonable by a single person and see 20 of them floating around would cheapen it a bit. The primals in their full forms are uniquely summonable, and only by large groups, so the egi concept works.

The scholar running around looked pretty cool. Also liked summoner. Dunno if I could take myself serious if I ran arounas scholar with a fairy though lol.. Unless my name was Link, of course.

I have every intention of leveling scholar just to run around saying "<Navi> Hey! Listen!"

It's whiteknighting and you should just admit it. These summons look God awful. Size AND design wise.

Thank God Killua is here to tell me what I like and what I don't. (And the vanity pets are most definitely NOT bigger.)

Sorry Killua, your opinion isn't objective reality, while some of the things you're saying (like vanity pets being bigger) are objectively wrong.

He's right though. Even before I saw the summons, it sounded like Yoshi-P was just copying Aion's Spiritmaster.

-debuff book class
-summons aren't very important, just a couple little "minions" to help tank some damage, etc.

When I think about it, the summons are probably so small because they're not even very important to the class.

But in Aion, at least your summons did get bigger.

Yoshi-P seems very out of touch with Final Fantasy and how he should be creating jobs. His interpretation of Bard is horrible and his Summoner is even worse. It's nothing like a Final Fantasy Summoner should be. I feel bad for ever complaining about FFXI's SMN.

At least I got to summon epic, threatening beasts instead of this fart cloud they're calling Titan.

Oh now I remember you... you're the one who also hates bard because it's not your dream of bard, even though it is exactly what a bard is in D&D, and identical to Edward in FF3.

I think I'll stop feeding you now.
