Where from? Did you have to pay for it all up front?

Amazon, and no they charge when they ship.

Some Sony executive in Japan is watching those pre-order numbers roll in and planning to perhaps purchase a small island with his bonus.

Who was it that kept saying that SE sucks for not having a PS4 release and was almost certain they wont? I think it was pubelle either way as I was saying back then I was almost certain SE would also release ARR for PS4 at some point to get all the gamers there as well.

While I'm a PC gamer, PS4 + ARR = Good news.

Furthermore, since PS4 is DX11 and all, I expect the client support to go that way:

Initial PC (+PS3) client: As they are now, with the PC client more optimized for visual candy.

Future PC client: Will convert to DX11, I've read that they will do that, but with a different client.

Future status: Current client for PS3, DX9 or whatever it is, + low end PC's , "HD" client for modern PC's + PS4.

Sounds like they'll need to support two clients, but they're actually getting 4 "markets" (low-end PC, higher-end PC, PS3, PS4). Win-win, I think.

I'm only basing the above on the fact that the clients are not 1:1 the same, so they could maintain 2 "branches" if they so wished. Smiley: grin

I'm hoping they release a PS4 bundle with ARR. I would definitely pick that up.

Well, that means I could buy one because it wouldn't be a waste of a sysem but I think I would rather buy a new tv for my PS3 instead of a PS4 for my old LCD TV, which is still pretty good but not as good as the ones out now, that's for sure.

My thoughts exactly! I'm waiting to see how my current tv plays with the game. Will upgrade if I can't read the chat font.

I have no idea what tv to get. 3d is out and since I have old hardware, I need composite and avg connections. Don't have
a lot of space so it can't be larger than a 40", but darn right now I have a full screen tv and it looks huge compared to the
the actually viewing surface space that new tvs have.

Will Amazon be able to handle all the Pre-orders? GameStop will wait-list people. I also think we you need to put money down.

As long as I'm into ARR a lot I'll be getting it first for ps3 and then ps4 when it comes out on it since I'm getting one day one anyways.

PSN is going to mandatory to play online multiplayer on the ps4. I hope PSN is not required to play ps4 mmos...

I doubt you will be required to have the paid psn model for ffxiv. The paid version is to support the multiplayer/matchmaking servers for normal games played via psn. Ffxiv will have its own servers so I doubt you will have to pay twice to play it.

I didn't order my PS3. However I got a crazy deal from Sony and Amazon.

Amazon had a deal if you buy the console from them they would give $50 in credit. (free game for me).

Sony had a deal, that if you got a Sony credit card they would give you $50 back if you paid off your first purchase
of $150 or more.

So... I got the credit card from Sony, bought the ps3 from Amazon, paid off the console the first month, and by the time
it wasl all over I paid $100 less for the console. Sweet and slick deal.

I'm hoping to get something like that going for the PS4.

The PS4 is basically a PC, and they already have a PC version of ARR, so this is a natural conclusion.

Already got ARR for PC and soon to be PS3, So the only real selling point for the PS4 for me(even though it trumped Xbone hard{not a Xbox fane to begin with}) is KH3. O.O

I'm going to wait and hope that by the time arr is ready for ps4, the console will come with an arr bundle.

I wouldn't bet on ever seeing a bundle for a pay to play MMO. I think there would be too much backlash from clueless people complaining about a 'bait and switch' if they have to pony up a monthly fee. This concept is still alien to many people. Just my guess.

That's a good point; I didn't consider it. Regardless, I'm still going to wait until arr is released on ps4 before I buy one, so maybe I'll get lucky Smiley: grin
