Maybe it's just me but now that we have a date for release I have lost total interest on when phase 3 will start (knowing when it actually goes live is better). It has me wondering what I want to do. Yes I get a free download from past 1.0 account but seeing what comes with the preorder.....

From the looks the preorder is being run through good ole DR. With the free download what happens if you have to do a restore and lose the install. I had such a problem with SOA for ffxi. I was told I would have to pay again to get access to the download being it was past 30 days from the release. Kind of makes me want actual disc's just for that kind of reason. I just don't want to deal with DR again.

I'm going that route, not just for the cool preorder stuff. Better safe than sorry. Plus, it might be faster to install from DVD than waiting for download on the day of launch...I just had a flashback of waiting to download updates in XI Smiley: glare

Ok I'm at work so don't kill me on this Q: I have the 1.0 CE if I buy a PS3 CE (and I do want to!) will i be able to have 2 characters play at the same time say me on my primary character and my significant other or a friend with a 2nd support character on the PS3?

Yes you can

But with 2 different PSN accounts.

This should be obvious, but just for clarification as I know it will be asked later as well and while it doesn't explicitly state it, it is worth mentioning: You have to pay a subscription fee for both accounts that the characters you wish to play are under I'm assuming, as it is in other games, correct?

Yes you will have to pay 14.99 (Or whatever the fee is) for both account. since they are 2 different accounts.

#67REDACTED, Posted: May 23 2013 at 11:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I honestly think the game is doomed to fail and it doesn't help that the game is called FFXIV:ARR, just like Wii U, or the Xbox One. While those in the circle would know the difference, there's plenty that will be confused. Furthermore there is going to be plenty of people that will be bashing the game (including me for reasons other than the game just sucking/being mediocre, more to do with dealing Square Enix Support) and causing potential customers to turn away. So at best it will probably be a niche title and will end up going free 2 play or being shuttered(honestly not a fan of f2p) in order to try to increase revenue. I think the f2p sentiment part is more in due to how out of touch Square Enix is regarding there products in regards to how much profit they make. Finally with the shake down going on with the management and CEOs its possible whoever rises to the top of the stack may just use it as an example of there predecessors failure.

So while I personally don't like Square Enix anymore it isn't just a blind hatred, I honestly feel FFXIV is going to sink harder than a rock
PS: I don't think consoles players are looking for this style MMO in regards to what they want on the console, but I will admit taste is subjective.

I'll do this thread good and ignoring the obvious trolling. I have a serious question:

If I have the collector's edition of 1.0 I will get some new items for 2.0 but not ALL the items as if I was to buy a new collector's edition. So my question is, If I have the PC 1.0 and buy the Ps3 collector's edition 2.0 how will those items get onto my 1.0 character? Or .....would those items only be valid on a new account with the new game that I buy?

If you have the 1.0 CE you'll get the collector's edition items delivered to you via mog mail. That includes the warrior of light helm, behemoth barding, baby behemoth minion, and couerl mount. If you want the pre-order items (mog cap, cait sith minion) you'll need to preorder. Your preorder will come with 2 codes that you enter into your SE account to collect the two bonuses... which will then also be delivered to you by mog mail.

So the only items you need to buy at this point, that you won't be getting, are the preorder items... and so if you don't want the CE bonuses, just get the standard edition for PS3 and you'll get the codes with it to add to your account.

Makes sense?

Oh okay so I get all of the collector's items since I already had it? I do really want that new case though, the standard Ps3 case. I just want to buy it all to display it because I"m lame like that!

In regards to my post count if that's what its about, I posted more on core a bit more back before they died. I also had an old alakhazham account for FFXI, but think it got deleted before the renaming to zam etc (honestly don't know or worried about it)

You have two posts, you've never been on this forum before, and when the date is announced you arrive with a long post about how bad you think it will suck. Get out of here.

You're entitled to your opinion but you're not going to convince anyone around here, nor on most of the internet for that matter. Early impressions from the objective crowd, including (p)reviewers have been very positive. Most of us played 1.0; we like what we see.

You need to understand that these are forums for enthusiasts of the game. People are here to discuss it and be excited about it together. By coming on here and repeating the same, tired old negative opinions you're just annoying people. It's sort of like going onto a forum for model train building, and saying model trains are stupid.

Anyway, if you don't like it, don't play. Simple as that. Catch ya on the flipside.
