It has come to my attention that there will be 2 different types of servers on release... legacy and new servers. id just like a lil info on this if any of you have a clue about this... on the new servers will the legacy members be able to import old characters already lvled? and on legacy servers will new members be able to join that server or is it only legacy friendly? any info would be great and much appreciated ;P
Legacy Server: Can import 1.0 character, New characted allowed to join there though once created on this kind of server, they cannot be transfered to "New player only" Server
"New Player only server": Will only accept new character created. Those character will be able to transfer to other new server and Legacy server, once they joined a Legacy Server, they cannot transfer back on a "New player Server" again.
That's how I see it anyway.

I'd advise not using the term "New Player Server" as that is misleading, "New Character Server" would be better.

Because one must always be politically correct in a professional MMO environment.
Its not about being politically correct. Most will read player and think person there for think only new players can join the new servers. If you say new character it will make it pretty obvious that anyone can still join it, but only as a brand new character.
This here LEGACY-only Pie.. We dont sell legacy-only pie to non-legacy! We dont use the same toilets or these here drinking fountains and we definitly DO NOT let them dine inside.. You there NON-legacy players have to go around back if you want food from this here diner.. LOL

I'm sure that the new player on those server will welcome the experience of the more Legacy player, with new characters.

Oh I have a sense of humor, sadly not all forms of humor transfer well when only text is involved.
Does anyone know what server in XI that diabolos merged with? id really like to try and find a few peeps i played with before...
I would go to the FFXI forum and ask there. I believe it's Siren though.
But what if the servers fail?
