I got 72 hours out of Four Warriors/Heroes of Light, so I've been excited about Bravely Default since, well, almost since the 3DS was announced. They're wonderfully lengthy games with great art direction and music (the first contained nearly a hundred chiptune tracks), and certainly well worth looking into if you liked Final Fantasy III and/or V. Smiley: nod

Erm... oh, yeah, about FFXIV... >_>

I'm ok with off topic conversation now because there is so little news other than the occasional letter from the producer. I'll probably police it a little more once the NDA lifts though so chat away!

How does Four heroes of light stack againts other FF titles of the same theme ? you know the crystal sagas etc etc ? Does it has a unique story ?

A mini rundown of Four Heroes for Ostia (I'll be as objective as possible):

Like the early Final Fantasy games it evokes (again, III and V especially), Four Heroes is somewhat light on story. That's not to say that each of the characters lacks a distinct personality -- each also has a couple personal issues along the way that get brought up -- or that there's not a persistent, overarching goal to accomplish with side quests along the way, but overall the story definitely takes a backseat to the highly nostalgic atmosphere and individual character customization. Jobs include everything from Black Mage and Warrior to Scholar, Paladin, Alchemist, and Shaman (I think there are almost 30 classes available, all told).

All equipment shows up on your character, and each character wears their clothes with unique flair (one person gets cat ears for their White Mage, another gets an orb at the top of their Black Mage hat, etc.), so that's also a nice touch. There are also several very difficult, endgame dungeons available -- before you go off to fight the final boss! -- in which you find the "relic" weapons for each class.

Until there's more to discuss about XIV, I'll be taking full advantage of my newly sanctioned off-topic privileges!

Great video as to why Wada going is long overdue.

Four Heroes is an extremely difficult game.

However, to keep it XIV relevant, artist Akihiko Yoshida did the art direction/character design for 4 Heroes, Bravely Default, and FFXIV.

I like some of that guy's videos. I'll watch it in a minute, lol. I don't agree with all of his opinions but he makes some good points.

He makes some good points, but he's kind of ridiculous about it. Is he trying to be the Jim Cramer of the video game industry?

Seriously, I was just waiting for him to pull out a rubber chicken or smash some cymbals together.
