Ok so i after i watched again the benchmark trailer i stopped at the scene where the party is in frond of some windmills. Now i really liked those windmills and since i had nothing better to do i decided to re create them with..what else... minecraft! hehe

Now the end result is...well...i do not know you tell me, i liked it personally but my opinion doesn't count since i am the one that made it.

The windmills i am talking about are this : http://www.novacrystallis.com/14/benchmark_test.png

And you can see the pictures of the one i made bellow :

Tell me what you think, i made them for fun so i do not expect much! :)

I'm not that good at building things in Minecraft, I usually spend my time just digging, I love finding caverns deep down.

Over in the Asylum I was trying to explain the appeal of Minecraft, and the best I came up with is that it's digital legos, only when you dig under some legos you find more legos, and then zombies come out to eat you at night.

Ah gee guys you are making me blush!! Smiley: blush

Joke aside i have no talent whatsoever when building stuff in minecraft. Most times i try to build everything seems so...flat. This is the second or third time i bothered to really try and build something good. I am afraid though i can't put up a server sorry. :P

It wouldn't be a bad idea though for the forum to have a server in minecraft and try to build ARR or FF XIV stuff at general.

That is actually the best i could come up with. I tried to convince some gamers at my work (and trust me finding gamers at my line of work is next to impossible) to try it out, but they all laughed. :(

Minecraft is really complex with its simplicity that its really surprising. I started playing it in alpha and bought it in beta and i have spend hundreds of hours in it, more than i can remember. One of the best games i have played in my life so far.

Does that make the creepers your annoying sibling that would come in and smash your Lego creations?

lol Atleast he didn't recreate midgar. I've seen a video where someone recreated the entire city of midgar in minecraft. It was very close to the original. I can dig up the link if anybody would like to see it.

EDIT: Removed extra Wint quote. For some reason it put the same quote in twice.

It's a bug with Firefox 19, I'll see if I can find the ticket for it and let you know if there are any updates from the developers.

Ok since i found another picture and it got me a bit excited i decided to that as well. This time though i don't think i was lucky enough to do it with the same "success" as the first one.

Original building : http://d1vr6n66ssr06c.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/final-fantasy-xiv-9.jpg

Mine :

b) http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn320/n_koyba/2013-03-20_132010_zps6720967a.png

c) http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn320/n_koyba/2013-03-20_132004_zpse8b9e625.png

d) http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn320/n_koyba/2013-03-20_132015_zps90cc1a83.png

e) http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn320/n_koyba/2013-03-20_132026_zps26325c18.png

There are obvious mistakes and also stuff i made up since i couldn't find a better picture.

Alas with this i am tired so i will probably stop doing more :P . But if i can find a building that i can actually see all around it i might do it.

So enjoy! ^^ Smiley: smile
