Im sure I missed this somewhere on the websites but I wanted to ask something on questing

Just curious how the quest logs works with all the different classes to change to.

If you pick up a lvl 1 quest on lancer and if you don't complete the quest and you change classes what happens to the quest ?
Are you able to do that quest on puglist even though u accepted it on lancer?

If yes then what if u pickup quest on lancer and kill the 5 mobs u needed to do but don't actually talk to the npc u needed to do to finsh the quest and then switch classes? Can you turn it in on a diff class?

You can't do class quest while you are a different class. I think (not sure though) that the class quests don't even display in your quest log when you're a different class.

There are three types of quest that all react differently to class changes:

1: General quests - These include the main story quests and any quests that NPCs give to everybody. You can pick these up as one class and finish them as another. They don't care.

2: Class quests - These are quests given by your guild and can only be completed as the appropriate class

3: Leve quests - These can be completed as any class but will only award exp to the class that accepted the quest in the first place. What this means is you couldn't, for instance, use your Leatherworker crafting leves to level your Conjurer. Handing in the levequest as Conjurer here will award you leatherworker exp.

that's what I was hoping it would be like. So you might as well pick up as many general quests as you can and even when your lvl 8 lancer to high for that level1 quest then you can just switch classes.

I am curious though if you picked up a general quest lvl 1 and your lancer becomes level 5 before you handed in that quest and you rather use a different class conjurer to turn in that quest. would it still give XP to lancer or conjurer? Example if the quest was to kill 5 bees and you did this on lancer but you forget to turn that in the quest at the npc for XP and now your lvl 5 and it would be a waste? Are you able to switch to conjurer and talk to the npc to finish the quest even though your lancer actually did the killing?

I think you get credit on the class you did it on.. because if you could jsut use your lvl 50 to do quests for you than hand in on lower lvls than it would be really really broken

Tried this last beta, and as long as there were no restictions (level wise) I could turn it in. Was doing quests as CNJ and turning them in as Miner

These get lock when not correct class, even when turning in.

Never tried this one out, I just assumed that it was like this, since if I remember right they say something about changing classes deminishing xp or something.

All quests have a minimum turn in level, so yes you could do the quest as a high level job and turn it in for the exp as a low level job, however the quest has to be low enough level for your low level job to turn it in. I think you have to be within 5 levels so for example you could complete a level 35 quest on your level 50 job and turn the quest in as any level 30+ job you have, the job you turn the quest in as gets the quests exp, any job 29 and below would be unable to turn in the quest.

You can also complete general quests on you DoH/DoL jobs. Only requirement is that you are a high enough level to start/turn it in. This includes ones that require killing mobs for KI's etc. During P3 when I was crafting I did a few where I started the quest, switched to my THM, ran out did the killing, switched back to weaver, turned in the quest. As long as you are high enough to do the quest it doesn't matter what Class/Craft you are on at all. I don't expect this will be something that changes from Beta to Launch.
