So, family member is having an issue with her first attempt at Monster Rearing.

She has a Baby Rabbit and it is 3 solid stars, and it has been this way for at least 4 IRL days now.

She feeds (usually La Theine Cabbage) and pets it every day, but the game keeps saying that it is "Bursting with Joy" and that it "Couldn't be more content". I've had her check twice now to make sure she did NOT have it set on "Enjoying the Moment" (which would prevent it from maturing). Sure enough, it's set to Personal Growth (how she got "Bursting with Joy" with it on Personal Growth eludes me, because sapling is always discontent).

Neither bg-wiki nor ffxiclopedia offer any information about this, bg-wiki tells you the special foods to feed it to change what it grows into (for example, Red Moko Grass will change it into a white rabbit..... but we don't want a white rabbit, we want a normal rabbit).

Is there something we're missing?

Or are we just experiencing horrible RNG?

It usually takes closer to two weeks for a monster to naturally grow up, in my experience of collecting mementos,

Ahh, okay, thanks for the info! We'll just keep feeding/taking care of it then, and see what happens.

I'm assuming they did that to give the player time to experiment with food if they wanted to try to alter its path, and/or make a decision about whether or not they want to go to a special variant or keep it normal.

Was just making sure we weren't derping and missing something lol.

Yeah but soon it'll be moving out and going to college and you'll wonder where the time went.
